Discounts commonly give one-third off eligible fares; the 16–17 Saver has different terms.
If you regularly travel by train, alone or with family or friends, investing in a Railcard could give you great savings in the long run!
How does it work?
Most of the listed one-year Railcards cost £35 and selected three-year versions cost £80. The Disabled Persons Railcard costs £20 for one year or £54 for three years. Not every card has a three-year option. Check each card’s current eligibility, fares, time restrictions and terms before buying.
Buying methods vary by Railcard. Check the relevant card’s current instructions and ensure you can present a valid Railcard when travelling on a discounted ticket.
Types of Railcard
All the Railcards have different eligibility criteria, some will only give you a discounted rate and some will also cover the people travelling with you. There is no limit to the number of times you can use any Railcard but some Railcards can only be used outside of peak times.
